King George Vi And Queen Elizabeth Stakes - Ascot - Saturday 24th July
Cape Blanco has only suffered 1 defeat in his career so far and that came in the French Derby, he proved that we could forget about that race when winning the Irish Derby from stablemates Midas Touch & Jan Vemeer.
both of those finished approx 12 lengths behind Workforce @ Epsom which suggests that Workforce has the beating of Cape Blanco, however it clearly showed that Workforce handled Epsom far better than any other horse in the race and he may well have been flattered by his winning margin.
Workforce has only lost once too in his career and that defeat was by Cape Blanco in the Dante @ York, the small field may have hindered Workforce as he also won his debut easily enough with double figure runners.
Cape Blanco can be backed @ 6/1 if O'Brien decides to run him, he is probably the only ballydoyle horse that can win the race, i will take that risk and back him to win the race @ 6/1.
On the day of the race i might well have a saver on Workforce to beat Cape Blanco just incase Workforce's Derby win was better than most thought
